CRAIG DAVIDSON
Craig Davidson is an acclaimed documentarian celebrated for films that chronicle the pageant of Twentieth Century American life. His works have been featured on national and international television and his longtime association with the Public Broadcastings System has generated a broad, appreciative audience for his work, which has been praised time and time again in the national press.

Pearl Buck has special meaning to Davidson. Her groundbreaking book, The Good Earth, was part of the core reading curriculum in his middle school. At that time it gave a first glimpse of early 20th century China’s common people and initiated a long and provocative discussion. East Wind West Wind: Pearl Buck, The Woman Who Embraced the World is a story that grew from that awareness. “She was a remarkable woman whose accomplishments were dynamic and illuminating,” Davidson says. “Pearl Buck’s work cannot be measured simply by the impact of her writing, she reached far beyond the written page and sought justice within the world she knew.”

DONN ROGOSIN
Donn Rogosin has had a multifaceted career as a writer, producer and television network executive. His public television work includes the documentaries “East Wind, West Wind: Pearl Buck, the Woman Who Embraced the World”, “There was Always Sun Shining Someplace”, “Satchel Paige: Defying Time” and a producing credit on Ballad of a Mountain for The American Experience. For the PBS system, he produced “Fiesta Mexicana” and “How to Learn Any Language” and supervised “The Spirit of Brazil”.

His interest in Pearl Buck began, like so many, with the reading of the “The Good Earth.” The more he learned about this remarkable woman, the more he and Craig felt the compulsion to document her extraordinary life for future generations.
